The petitioners, who are Indian Muslims are on temporary visit to Pakistan under valid visas, and have been taken into custody by the police on the ground that they are not found present at addresses given by them at the time of registration. Learned counsel for the petitioners has stated that the petitioners are no more desirous-to stay in Pakistan and want that they should be allowed to go to the country of their residence i.e. India.

This Court had called upon Mr. Maqbool Elahi Malik, learned Advocate-General, Punjab, and asked to obtain instructions on the question as to why the petitioners were being detained in Pakistan and are not allowed to go to India. The learned Advocate-General states on instructions from the relevant quarters that the Government' has acceded to the request of the petitioners that they may be allowed to go to India and is willing to make all necessary arrangements in this behalf.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners has pointed out that the passports as also some goods belonging to the petitioners have been taken into possession by the police.

In view of what has been said above, the petition fructifies and is disposed of with the observation that as undertaken by the Government, C suitable arrangements for sending the petitioners to India shall be made, without any delay. The passports of the petitioners and the goods, if any taken into custody shall also be returned to them.
