' The apprehension of the petitioner in the present case is that the persons who have been enrolled as voters on 30th September, 1991 shall not be allowed to cast votes in the forthcoming Local Bodies Election. Two applications are stated to have been filed, one before the Registration Officer and the other before the Election Commission, Punjab.
2. Mr. Maqbool Elahi Malik, learned Advocate-General Punjab states that the apprehension in the mind of the petitioner in unfounded. If the petitioners have been enrolled as voters there is no reason as to why they should not be allowed to cast their votes. This statement of the learned Advocate-General is perfectly in accord with law on the subject according to which the person enrolled as a voter before the constituency is called upon to elect its representatives has a right to cast his vote. There is no order passed by the respondents adverse to the petitioner. At this stage the apprehension of the petitioner appears to be unfounded.
With the above observations this petition is disposed of.
