ORDER

1. ~It is contended that the petitioner Abdul Ghaffar was admitted to bail by this Court on 9-9-1979 vide Criminal Miscellaneous No.3217/B of 1979. It is argued that despite the admission of the petitioner to bail, he is being subjected to harassment and coercion by the respondents. It is stressed that no lawful power is vested in respondent-Police Officer to cause any sort of harassm ent to the petitioner under the given circumstances.

2. Mr. Akhtar Shabbir, learned Additional Advocate-General states that the petitioner is under legal obligation to join the investigation as and when he is called upon to do so. According to the learned Law Officer', in case the petitioner is admitted to bail, he cannot be arrested by the Investigating Officer under the same charges. I find from the record that the petitioner was admitted to bail on 9-9-1979. He, therefore, cannot be subjected to any harassment vis-a-vis the case in which he was allowed bail by this Court. A However, the petitioner shall join the investigation of the case as and when he is called upon to do so by the Investigating Officer.

3. Needless to observe that the Investigating Officer shall act strictly according to law. With these observations, this petition stands disposed of.
