' Zafar Iqbal petitioner stands charged under section 307, P.P.C. On the allegation of having murderously assaulted on Farooq Ahmad P.W. With a knife on 28-8-1986. The injury landed in the abdomen and was declared to be grievous.
2. Bail is claimed only on the ground of delay. It is stated that he was arrested on 26-12-1986 but the trial has not come to an end.
3. Learned trial Court did not consider him entitled to bail on the ground that he is a previous convict.
' Learned counsel for the State has opposed the bail. According to him the petitioner remained absconding and was declared a proclaimed offender.
4. In view of the above circumstances, I do not consider him entitled to bail. The application is dismissed. However, I direct the trial Court to decide the case within 6 weeks, failing which the petitioner may apply for bail again.
