ORDER

The petitioner Sarfraz Ahmad has moved this petition under section 426, Cr.P.C. For the suspension of his sentence for a short period.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner argued that the father of the petitioner is suffering from chronic liver failure and as such, he is lying at his death bed. Learned counsel has prayed that the petitioner may be admitted to bail for seven days so that he may meet his dying father. Learned counsel has given his personal assurance in the case that he will see to it that after the expiry of the period given to the petitioner, the petitioner surrenders to the jail authorities. Mr.S.M.Zubair, learned Additional Advocate-General, Punjab, has appeared before me and has made a categorical statement that he has no objection if in view of the special circumstances of the case the petitioner is allowed seven days' time to meet his ailing father.

3. In view of the statement having been made by the learned Law Officer, the petitioner is admitted to bail for seven days in the sum of Rs,2,00,000 (Rupees two Lacs) with two sureties, each in the like amount, to the satisfaction of the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) of this Court. The petitioner shall surrender on 15-9-1987. This petition stands disposed of.
