Mr. A. Majeed for the Five Elected Representatives of the Workmen of Mehar Textile Mills Limited and Mr. Ghani Advocate, along with Mr. Masood, for the respondents, are present.

This is an application under section 42 (1) of the West Pakistan Industrial Disputes Ordinance, 1968, for interpretation of certain clause in the settlement arrived at between the parties on 26th December 1968. The applicants pray for interpretation of the following. Paraof the settlement :- "Agreed that all daily-rated workmen shall henceforth be converted to monthly-rated and their monthly wages shall be calculated on the basis of twenty-eight (28) days wages instead of twenty-six (26) days wages as is presently the practice."
3. There has been some misunderstanding between the applicants and the opposite-arty, the Mills, about the interpretation of the above agreement between the parties. The agreement altar's to me, to be quite clear. I would interpret it to mea3n that the workmen are entitled to recover their wages after every, fourteen days at the daily rate that they were getting prior to 26th December 1968, when the settlement was arrived at. In Order to be more clear, I would say that payment for fourteen days will be made every fortnight in a month and the total payment for the whole month will be on the basis of twenty eight days. revisions by the competent authorities.
