MUHAMMAD ALI MAZHAR, J.----The petitioner is animal rights activist and moved to this court with the contention that on 13.02.2021 she visited children Park located at Gulshan 25-UC, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block-3, Karachi where she saw three monkeys captivated in very small cage without, water , food and ventilation facilities. It is further alleged in the petition that the cage was very dirty and smelly and the condition in which three monkeys were captivated did not meet the behavioural, social and physiological needs of monkeys.
2. On notice, Tauqeer Abbas, Director Parks, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, DMC (East), Karachi is present along with his counsel Ms. Saima Anjum advocate. He has submitted the reply in which it is clearly stated that three monkeys from the aforesaid park have already been shifted to mini zoo of Baghe-Rizwan Park where they will look after the monkeys properly . Learned counsel for the petitioner is satisfied. Petition is disposed of accordingly . The Director Parks has the job description to regularly visit the parks and to watch whether the animals captivated in the mini zoo are being maintained properly or not and take necessary measures. He is directed to be vigilant and perform his duties continuously in his territorial jurisdiction.
