1. TARIQ JAVAID, J. - This writ petition is directed against the Food Department as well as against the PASSCO with the prayer for a direction to the respondents to lift the wheat crop of the petitioners, It is maintained that the petitioner alongwith others in Tehsil Ali Pur, District Muzafargarh are situated across the River Sindh. According to the wheat procurement Policy for 2010-2011, the 27 villages/Mauzas of Tehsil Alipur been attached with each procurement centre, which will be the territory of that purchase centre, It is alleged that bardana is not being issued to the rowers in the said Mauzas, It is also that no purchase centre has been established in the said villages, It is further maintained that if immediate steps for the procurement are not taken by the transport wheat crop 80 K.M. Away without having provided them the packing material/bardana. Attitude of the-PASSCO reflects anti growers sentiment calculated to frustrate the policy of the Government to support the growers. The attitude of the PASSCO needs to be corrected, while the Government has made budget allocations and made a policy for the uplift of the growers, the PASSCO officials appear to be determined to defeat the 'policies of the Government by their unreasonable bureaucratic attitude, the Government. The growers cannot be left at the mercy of nature. PASSCO is directed to take immediate steps for uplifting of the wheat crop from the growers of 27 villages of the Tehsil All Pur as mentioned in the petition without any further loss of time, It is also directed that if delay is caused and any loss is suffered by growers, the officials shall be liable to compensate the growers out of their salaries. With the above direction this petition is disposed of.
