ORDER

' IJAZ AHMAD CHAUDHRY, J.---Through this Constitutional petition the petitioner has sought for issuance of a direction to the respondents/Police Authorities to conduct any investigation in the cases against the accused/petitioner within the jail premises in accordance with law and the petitioner has already moved applications for holding trial against the petitioner in jail premises, which are pending with Secretary Home, Government of Punjab.

2. After hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the Asst. A.G. It is found that the petitioner has been continuously moving applications that he has strong apprehension that he will be murdered by his opponent as Mobeen Butt one of his co-accused, who had also filed number of writ petitions, with the same prayer, but police took out him out of the jail while undertaking that he would be protected and inspite of that he was murdered by the opponents when he was taken out of jail within the area of Kot Lakhpat, Lahore on 13.1.2010. In such scenario when the incident of Mobeen Butt co-accused of the petitioner has already taken place, it will be in the interest of justice that the petitioner be kept in jail Kot Lakhpat as prayed for and if investigation of any case is needed, that be conducted in the jail premises by the police official. The Secretary Home Government of the Punjab is also directed to dispose of the applications filed by the petitioner for conducing his trial in jail premises within fortnight. Learned counsel for the petitioner is satisfied with these directions and this petition is disposed of accordingly.
